Cumberland County  Women's Hall of Fame
Reservations and money are due March 4, 2024

Reserve now for the Annual Gala Induction, Women’s Hall of Fame

The public is invited to the March 20 induction of four Cumberland County women into the Women’s Hall of Fame, and reservations are now being taken.

 

The event will be held Wednesday, March 20, at Merighi’s Savoy Inn, beginning with a cash bar at 6 and dinner at 7. The cost is $65 per person.

Emcee for the evening is Dr. Elizabeth Arthur, City Council President for the City of Vineland. The 2024 inductees are:

 

Lisa Stewart Garrison -  Honored for her work getting the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church designated on the National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom, the first such site in Cumberland County and the sixth in New Jersey.

 

Dr. Christine A. Johnston  - Creator and developer of the worldwide Let Me Learn program and originator of the Compass Academy Charter School in Cumberland County.

 

Dr. Dina L. Rossi – Developed and designed the Cumberland County Technical Education Center, the first full-time vocational high school in Cumberland County.

 

Mary E. Rossi– Longtime principal at Vineland High School, she earned the distinction as Best Principal in the history of the School. She was the second female and first VHS graduate to become principal.

 

 The Women’s Hall of Fame honors local women of outstanding achievement who have made significant contributions to a profession, the community and/or women’s issues. The Hall also gives scholarships to young women who graduate from Cumberland County’s high schools and go on to higher education.
